Graduation trip
OCCEF and Lion Travel have collaborated to plan the Formosa Mandarin Odyssey "Discover Taiwan" graduation trip. During the six-day journey, participants will traverse the magnificent canyons of Taroko Gorge, experience the grandeur of Taiwan's high mountains, and pass through the rice fields of the Huadong Rift Valley to understand how hardworking farmers have made the island prosperous. We will also ride the nostalgic “Blue Breeze” train through Taiwan's most beautiful station, and stay overnight at Sun Moon Lake, where we can cycle around the lake and learn about the indigenous legend of its origin. This carefully planned trip is not only an opportunity for young people to appreciate the beauty of Taiwan, but also a precious gift from overseas parents who care about Taiwan.
Feature
(1) We will stay for a night at the distinctive lodges of Taroko Village Hoteland, enjoying indigenous cuisine while surrounded by green mountains. Participants are welcome to appreciate the culture and art of the Taroko tribe.
(2) Participants will take the classic “Blue Breeze” (藍皮解憂號) train from Taimali and pass through Taiwan's most beautiful railway stations, including Taitung Dulan (多良) and Pingtung Fangliao (枋寮). They will also make a brief stop at the Kanadun tribe (金崙部落) to participate in a guided tour by local indigenous friends to learn about the tribe's story.
(3) We will visit the training base of “Electric-Techno Neon Gods“ (電音三太子) by “Chio-Tian Folk Drums & Art Troupe” (九天民俗技藝團), a well-known performance group in Taiwan. They combine traditional temple culture with popular elements to create the “sam-tai-zu” (三太子) performance, which is often seen at world cultural events and enjoys international renown.
(4) To enhance the travel experience, participants will first take the latest express train of the Taiwan Railway to Hualien, then take the “Blue Breeze” train along the Southern Cross-Island Highway to Pingtung, and finally take the high-speed rail to Taichung. The itinerary will allow participants to experience various railway transportation and avoid discomfort caused by long-distance bus rides.
(5) During the trip, participants will stay in various characteristic hotels. They will spend the first night at Taroko Village Hoteland, the second night at a special hotel in Chishang, Taitung, and the final night at a hotel alongside Sun Moon Lake. The high-quality hotels will provide participants with sufficient rest and energy to experience each day.
(6) Taiwan is famous for its cuisine, and its delicious food is a lasting memory. During the trip, participants will experience the local food culture, including classic Taiwanese dishes, indigenous cuisine, innovative Asian cuisine, night market snacks, and more, allowing them to be proud of Taiwan's cuisine.
